Blues to Bach Owners - Wilson FamilyHello, and welcome to Blues to Bach Music Center!

I’m Jeff Wilson, and my wife Nancy and I purchased the Blues to Bach business in January of 2016 from previous owners Brian and Kathy Stark. We are thrilled to bring our passion for music into a business that is designed to instill the love for music in others. We continue to focus the growth of the business on instrument rental and renting the lesson rooms to quality instructors… while adding our own flair and fun along the way.

We have two great kids, Garrett and Jenna. Garrett works with me at the store, and we’re excited to work with a team of employees and instructors who love music as much as we do!

Music is a central part of who we are. It has filled our lives with amazing fun, incredible memories and great opportunities. Here are a few musical tidbits about our family:

  • Grew up in Minneapolis, Kansas where I played Trombone through high school and was a member of the Salina Youth Symphony Orchestra and the All-District Jazz Band.
  • Attended Kansas State University where I enjoyed participating in Men’s Glee and the K-State Singers.
  • Took one year off in college to travel and perform with the international musical and educational group “Up With People”, where I met my talented wife, Nancy.
  • Spent three summers singing at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City in the “Stax of Wax” rock-n-roll show at the Moulin Rouge Theater.
  • Worked for Jenkins Music Company, where I managed several locations throughout the years.
  • Led music at Parkwood Day School where I wrote and composed songs for the kids/teachers as requested.
  • Enjoy filling in at our church when needed by playing piano, guitar, bass, or trombone… and singing from time to time.
  • Having fun playing bass guitar with friends in a cover band.

  • A natural musician, Garrett was first chair trombone in the Wind Ensemble at Shawnee Mission West High School.
  • Talented guitar player who also plays piano.
  • Was the guitar player in his church praise band for 8 years
  • One of those people who can make any instrument sound good.

  • Jenna played clarinet from fifth grade through her freshman year at Shawnee Mission West.
  • Enjoys playing the ukulele and bass guitar

  • Nancy is a vocalist, singing alto in our church choir and performing special music on occasion.
  • Traveled in the international musical and educational group “Up With People” where she met her semi-talented (but dashingly good looking) husband Jeff.
  • Played the lead role of Annie in the musical “Annie Get Your Gun” in high school.

Some people dream of playing on stage in front of thousands of people. Some want to play only for themselves. I encourage you to start your musical journey at Blues to Bach, so you can play anywhere.
