Blues to Bach Music leases and sells school approved Band and Orchestra instruments to students in most Kansas school districts. Our Band and Orchestra Rentals include the school districts of Desoto, Shawnee Mission School District, Olathe School District, Blue Valley, Bonner Springs / Edwardsville, Piper, Kansas City, Kansas School District, Lawrence, Eudora, Basehor-Linwood, Tonganoxie, Spring Hill and Paola School District.

Note: We are required to apply sales tax to all rental fees.
Points of Interest
  • Month-to-month rental or school year rental*, which qualifies for a 10% discount when pre-paid.
  • Monthly payments made via electronic payment from checking / savings account or credit card.
  • No interest or finance charges during the rental period.
  • Blues to Bach Music will allow the renter to exchange for another type of instrument one time during the rental period.
  • All rental monies paid apply to purchase of the instrument being rented, or a step-up instrument.
  • A maintenance agreement is available for an additional $5 per month. This covers normal adjustments and minor repairs. The coverage of more major repairs will be the customer responsibility at the discretion of B2B Music, LLC.
Note: * School year rentals always end in June. They can start in any month between June thru October of the previous year for a total contract length between 8 – 12 months.

A few things to consider when renting a musical instrument

Is the rental contract a Rent-to-Own Contract?

Some music stores strongly encourage a further investment into a step-up musical instrument from the typical student-level rental instrument just months after the initial rental agreement is signed. They begin promoting their step-up line of instruments in the second semester of the student's first year in band, and as a result, discourage a rent-to-own contract. Blues to Bach Music Center does not participate in this activity. Student level instruments are appropriate for most performers through high school. These instruments are made specifically for student players, meaning they are easier to play, lighter, more dent resistant, etc.

At Blues to Bach Music Center, 100% of your rental payments goes towards the purchase of this instrument or a step-up instrument.

What is the length of the rental contract?
The monthly rental rate multiplied by the length of the rental contract determines the contract's total cost. Most shoppers only ask for the monthly price. However, the length of the contract is what truly differentiates the value of Instrument Rental Programs. At Blues to Bach Music Center, our rental contract is 27 months for a large majority of the instruments rented and 32 months for only the most expensive instruments. Most other instrument rental contracts are 35+ months for all instruments rented. 27 month contract instruments:

32 month contract instruments:

Alto Saxophone, Baritone, Cello, French Horn and Tenor Saxophone
